Logo & Website
Accretion is a word game created to help students with their language development skills. By offering several increasingly challenging levels, Accretion inspires composition and creativity, while giving individuals a fun experience in generating and communicating ideas. The word “accretion” comes from the Latin “accrescere” — “to grow.”
With this in mind I presented the created several logo option. The client chose to move forward with the conceptual idea of a pearl in an oyster to represent how the game grows from one word (the grain of sand) to a larger, more beautiful story through the layering process of each level (the pearl). In the “draft phase” I fleshed out the composition of the oyster and pearl, as well as experimented with typefaces, until the final logo was approved by the client.
After creating the logo, I customized a Squarespace website for the client to promote and sell the game. The use of the Squarespace platform will allow the client to update the website as needed because of it’s WYSIWYG interface and convenient content management system.
